Auckland based John Crawford is one of New Zealand’s best known photographers. His portfolio of commissioned and uncommissioned works is diverse in subject matter and mood, yet unmistakeable in its use of light and its natural, simple style.
John says his aim is to capture images that have a high degree of interest and contrast, don’t look too technical, and are easy to look at and enjoy.

Proyecto: Frozen in time, Switzerland

"These image are set in an ambiguous territory where dream and reality clash. In this altered state of reality, stillness and silence permeate each image, each is a moment frozen in time. Here memory and introspection create a labyrinth of illusion, mystery an fantasy. The narrative that envolves throughout the works is a personal one, a journey, steeped in self-scrutiny, towards coming to terms with one’s identity through life experiences, loss and sorrow as well as pleasure."

gregory crewdson

Gregory Crewdson, lives in New York and is a member of the Department of Photography of Yale's University, has influenced in a young generation of artists who use in their work the fiction and the narrative resources derived from the cinema ".
All of them are fitted inside his work " The mystery in the daily life ", a sample in which will be able to appreciate oneiric and surrealistic recreations of scenes set in the daily life.
Gregory Crewdson remembers that as a child was trying to listen with the ear stuck to the floor while his father, who was a psychoanalyst, was working in the floor below. It tends to consider his work, in some way, as a result of that experience. And seeing his images, really, it seems to be in front of the staging of the distresses and anxieties of anyone from a residential North American neighborhood.
