Nathalie Daoust es una fotógrafo canadiense, nacida y criada en Montreal. Su objetivo como artista es empujar los límites de la fotografía a través de métodos experimentales. Al trabajar con nuevos medios y a descubrir nuevas técnicas fotográficas, Daoust explora el reino indefinible entre la verdad, la fantasía y el deseo humano de escapismo.

“Estas imágenes se encuentran en un territorio ambiguo donde chocan sueño y la realidad. En este estado alterado de la realidad, la quietud y silencio impregnan cada imagen, cada una es un momento congelado en el tiempo. Aquí la memoria y la introspección crear un laberinto de la ilusión, el misterio de una fantasía. La narrativa que envuelve toda la obra es personal, un viaje, lleno de auto-control, para llegar a un acuerdo con la propia identidad a través de experiencias de la vida, la pérdida y el dolor, así como el placer.”

Nathalie Daoust is a Canadian photographer, born and raised in Montreal. Her objective as an artist is to push the boundaries of photography through experimental methods. While working with new mediums and discovering new photographic techniques, Daoust explores the undefinable realm between truth, fantasy and the human desire of escapism.

"These image are set in an ambiguous territory where dream and reality clash. In this altered state of reality, stillness and silence permeate each image, each is a moment frozen in time. Here memory and introspection create a labyrinth of illusion, mystery an fantasy. The narrative that envolves throughout the works is a personal one, a journey, steeped in self-scrutiny, towards coming to terms with one’s identity through life experiences, loss and sorrow as well as pleasure."
